Performing at the Regal Theatre 8/3/18
13 Mar 2018
As music teachers, we fully support various Cornwall youth groups and the creative arts in Cornwall and strive to see children and young people develop and showcase their skills. For them to perform on a stage in front of a live audinece is a wonderful oppertunity and could inspire their creative journey.
I first performed on stage in front of my classmates in assembly when I was 7 years old and I remember being so nervous that I couldnt even speak, but when I began singing all of a sudden I felt alive and the nerves completely disappeared. I enjoyed it so much that I realised that was the only thing that I wanted to do in life. I never forgot that moment.
We had the pleasure of performing at the RLG Dance Festival last week which was organised by Pennoweth Primary School and featured different dance groups from various schools in the local area. All of the acts did such an amazing job and for alot of the performers it was their first time on a big stage in front of 300+ people. The acts were fantastic and made me realise just how much talent there is in Cornwall and how important it is for them to have the oppertunity to showcase it.
So...Steve & I will be organising a summer showcase event for our music pupils to showcase their talent and how far they have come in the time they have been learning their instrument. They have all made so much progress that we feel it needs to be appreciated.... SRx
