FAQs
How to book Scenic Route for your wedding, party or event.
Do You Play Live?
Yes, all of our music is 100% live and acoustic, we don’t any use backing tracks. On some songs Steve will use his loop pedal to layer various guitar parts for a fuller sound which is all completely live.
How long do you play for?
The music for your ceremony can be split however you desire, typically the musical line-up looks a bit like this.
• 5-6 songs as guests are ushered to their seats
• 1 song for the entrance
• 3 songs for the signing of the register
• 1 song for the married couple’s exit
The wedding reception and Evening Pre-Party are both 1.5 hours of live music and Wedding Breakfast is a 2 hour set.
Will Scenic Route play a shorter set than 2 hours?
We have a minimum fee for 2 hours. Scenic Route can play for less time if you wish, but the fee will remain the same.
How long do you need to set up?
Scenic Route will need 40-50 minutes for full set up and sound check to get the best possible sound at the venue. If you would like Scenic Route to arrive earlier than 1 hour before to set up, an early set up fee may be charged to cover the extra time. Please contact us for a tailored quote.
What is your setup?
Scenic Route pride themselves in using high quality professional sound equipment for their full setup. This consists of a Bose L1 model 2 PA with a digital mixer and base bin which is often praised for its clarity of sound (see example setup on wedding & events page). If requiring a stripped back setup (ceremony for example), there is also the option of a Roland battery powered amplifier which also distributes a professional audio sound.
Do you require electricity / Do you play oudoors
Scenic Route would require electricity for their full set up (see example of setup on weddings & events page). All leads and extension cables are provided. If Scenic Route are required to play outdoors or a setup without electric they also have a high quality battery powered amplifier which is ideal for ceremonies and garden parties (weather permitting).
What if my venue doesn’t allow amplification
Some venues are strict on the use of amplification and it is always best to double check with the venue that amplification is allowed. Scenic Route can perform the songs acoustically if need be and advise on the songs that would work best stripped back.
How far do you travel?
Scenic Route can travel as far and wide as required as long as travel costs are covered and accommodation if necessary. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
The song I’d like Scenic Route to play isn’t on their setlist, will they learn it?
Absolutely, Scenic Route offer you the opportunity to commission up to three songs as long they can make it work successfully on guitar or Ukulele. Scenic Route will need to know your song choices at least 3 weeks prior to your event to ensure they can learn the songs the way you imagined for your big day. Please note, If you're having a non-religious ceremony, your registrar will probably ask for your song choices at least 6 months before your wedding day. We request that you let us know your song choices before confirming with the registrar.
Does Scenic Route have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes up to £5,000,000.
